UTI

Posted on: May 30, 2005

During urinary tract infections I usually take the patient’s temperature. (Actually, I do this for all possible infections). Then, I have them give me a urine sample as soon as I finish taking their v/s. This way, I can process the patient’s urine using a dipstick test while they are being seen by the doctor… I wonder if I should also ask when the last infection happened, and if patient is female: if she’s pregnant and when her last cycle was….
